Montessori Mathematics Workshop

Children display a universal love of mathematics, which is par excellence the science of precision, order, and intelligence.
- Dr. Maria Montessori

This course is designed as a refresher course for trained and working Montessorians. The course offers access to High Definition (HD) videos of all the Montessori Mathematics Activities/presentations for 3-6 age group.

What you will learn?

The Montessori Math Materials are concrete manipulative materials, allowing the child to internalize the concepts of number, symbol, sequence, operations and memorization of basic facts.

Children are aware of numbers and quantities at a very young age. Daily life provides many opportunities to make young children aware of such concepts, for instance, a mother says to her child two buttons are missing from your jacket, or our dog had three puppies. When children enter the classroom for the first time they can already count a few numerals. Even a 2 year old toddler, can tell the difference between a bigger and a smaller toy. Math is a part of their everyday life without a obvious reference to it so!

In this world, students often learn math by rote, without any real understanding or ability to put their skills to use in everyday life. Learning comes much more easily when they work with concrete educational materials that graphically show what is taking place in a given mathematical process.

MNTTA (Montessori and Nursery Teachers Training Academy) offers trainings and workshops to help the child to develop their full potential in every field.

This workshop is for teachers and parents who want to help the child learn maths in a very concrete way.

The course also provides three-day workshop on introduction to the concept of world’s largest pedagogy and the use of scientifically developed maths materials. The course is an interactive process that encourages the active involvement of the participants rather than a lecture session. In addition to learning about Montessori maths materials, participants will gain experience in understanding the mathematical mind of child. The course also highlights useful resources and ways to enliven your classroom.

As a result of attending this course, participants will be able to offer young minds, maths in more effective way which children will love to learn. This is proven method which even google, amazon and wikipedia founders have learned and acknowledged.
